Amazing grace—how foreign to a skeptic such as me

Amazing grace—how foreign to
a skeptic such as me!
But now, ‘though logic has its place,
there’s room for mystery

We struggle still to comprehend
to analyse and sort
while Story cuts right to the chase
of all our cultures taught

Deep shadows filled our hearts with fear
mistakenly believed
Now in the light, those shades appear
redeemed and re-perceived

Amazing grace is built into
each gene and chromosome:
Logos can form a structure,
but Mythos makes a home.
